Clearing progressing as expected expected

If you looked at the satellite imagery predawn today or even out the window it did not look promising for reliable HoleInCloudswinds and most of the sky covered with heavy clouds. So when you read in the forecast that I expected a “hole in the clouds” to arrive in the morning accompanied by building winds you may have been skeptical.

The animation below shows why I made this holey forecast predawn. Watch the time indicator at the top of the imagery.

First looking at Southern California note the clouds give way to blue skies mid day. This helps the NW wind curve into the beaches.

Then looking at the Bay Area notice the rainy blue area fade away and then a huge hole in the clouds developing and moving over the Bay Area
