We anticipated this might happen the night before as the upper level plots were showing significant early flow. Sometimes we can see the land breezes tap into this flow early on then soon as the sun comes up, the flow mixes out. Check out Deer Island this morning:
You can see the winds were very short lived and dropped soon as the sun started to heat up the surface:
