Notice how shallow the marine layer clouds are in the Hwy. 92 Gap gap that feeds winds from Half Moon Bay to the area near 3rd. Ave. Also notice how as fast as the southerly eddy winds push the clouds over the hills they evaporate. Likewise notice how “hard” the top of the clouds appears. All of these signs suggest that the W to WSW winds from the gap will not reach 3rd. Ave. today.
This image from the Bodega profiler confirms that the marine layer clouds are very shallow and that there is a strong inversion.
