Edisto Island - South Edisto River Side

Imagery may not reflect recent dynamic changes

Multiple public beach access locations on the river side with wide beaches for rigging and launching.

On W, NW winds, kiting over to Pine Island is a good option with lots of slicks at low tide.

Beware of sharks through the channel and at the inside beach point going into Big Bay Creek. Safest on incoming tide.

Across the channel on the backside of Pine Island, sandbars, slicks, and smooth water await but careful, no civilization over there if things go wrong.

Edisto Island - Atlantic Side

30+ beach access locations along Palmetto Drive each with limited free parking.

East of Pine Point, Atlantic facing beaches are relatively steep, narrow, and have large rock jetties every 50-60 yards.  This limits the room to rig and launch.

With southerly Low Country sea breezes, the prevailing northeast current opposes the wind and makes for epic, wide-open riding.  Time the tides with the wind direction for optimal cruising conditions.
