The golden isles include jekyll, st. simons, and sea islands

No kiting restrictions but stay away from swimmers, surfers, and Sea Island piers.

Gould’s Inlet on St. Simons Island requires a pass to access the island.

Tidal range can be 8-9 feet with low tide in the afternoon and evening enhancing sea breeze activity, particularly from the NE direction.

Park near St. Andrews Picnic Area and hike down to the point.

BY LAW – STAY OUT OF THE BRUSH ON THE SOUTHERN END OF THE POINT DUE TO PLOVER HABITAT.

Advanced riders can ride on the south and west side of the point.

Beginners should stay on the southeast side and DO NOT go past green buoy south of the point.

JEKYLL ISLAND MID-ISLAND

Vehicle access to Jekyll Island requires a parking pass available for purchase online or at the entry gate.  

Setup on the beach between the parking lot and Beach Access 10.

This area has weaker current than northern and southern portions of the island. Large east-west sand bar at low tide offers many exposures.

Best upwind opportunity with opposing wind and current.

St. simons east beach and North shore - goulds inlet

During peak tourism season parking may be difficult.

East Beach is a good spot for beginners through to advanced riders.

North Shore and Goulds Inlet are for advanced and expert riders.  

Watch for tidal influence and expect areas where ebb and flow opposes each other.  Lots of slicks and sandbar action.
