Hilton Head Island is home to several wind sport sites.

Many areas are protected by the Department of Natural Resources and often patrolled by DNR Rangers.

Respect the fauna and the wildlife, especially nesting turtles and birds.  Turtle nesting season is from May to October.

Stay out of swim zones (look for buoys) follow the 100 yard rule to stay away from swimmers, surfers, and beach goers.

Sea Pines requires a day pass for non-residents and guests, available for purchase at the entrance.

Limited public parking.

Small beach launch area – ADVANCED riders only.

Park near The Salty Dog Cafe and walk to the beach.

Tidal currents are very strong – plan to ride when tide is slack or incoming.

Sea Pines

Sea Pines requires a day pass for non-residents and guests, available for purchase at the entrance.

Limited public parking.

Tower Beach Club is PRIVATE and will require owner ID during the summer months.  Can be more lenient during the off-season.

Tower Beach skill level dependent on season:

April-July: Advanced (due to tourists and crowded beaches)

August-March: Intermediate/Advanced

Coligny Beach Park

Free parking just NW of the Coligny Beach Park traffic circle.

Coligny Beach Park area includes North Forest Beach to the north and South Forest Beach to the south. 

Do not launch between swim buoys or where there are large groups of beach goers.

Skill level dependent on season:

April-July: Advanced (due to tourists and crowded beaches).

August-March: All skill levels.

Experience levels:

Beginner

Intermediate

Northeast Side Parks and beaches

Included Islanders Beach Park, Folly Field Beach Park, Driessen Beach Park, and nearby Burkes Beach.

Respect the fauna and the wildlife, especially nesting turtles and birds.

Permit and metered parking available.

Do not launch between swim buoys or where there are large groups of beach goers.

A popular surf spot when swell becomes measurable.

Skill level dependent on season:

April-July: Advanced (due to tourists and crowded beaches).

August-March: All skill levels.

Mitchelville beach and fish haul beach park

This is a quiet, off-the-beaten-path beach with limited free parking available.

Respect the fauna and the wildlife, especially nesting turtles and birds.

Low Tide: Extensive mud flat between beach and water.

High Tide: Limited beach area may make launching a challenge for beginners.
