Find the 2 “L’s” in this graphic. Those are the centers of the storm that is dumping rain and snow on California. So, why should you care? After all you came to Baja’s East Cape to get away from rain and snow and they could not possibly impact you in your winter wind refuge.

Wrong! Looking at the storm moving in from the west you can see how it has pushed the North Pacific High southward and weakened the factors that make for a strong NPH and strong NW winds.

Likewise, the 4 corners region high pressure that has made our recent wind is also weakened so it is sending only a trace of the strong El Norte winds.

The good news is that in the wake of this storm new high-pressure areas will move towards us making for strong El Norte winds by Wednesday.
